Youth Officer Program
Officer Christopher Clarke has been a Patrolman with the Plattsburgh Police Department since March of 2000 and has been assigned to the Juvenile Division since January of 2011. In addition to the enforcement of the laws of the State of New York as well as the City of Plattsburgh, the Juvenile Division is responsible for the investigation of criminal offenses committed by a person under the age of sixteen.
Officer Clarke serves as a liaison between the Plattsburgh Police Department, the Plattsburgh City School District and Seton Catholic. This includes the five schools located in our City; Plattsburgh High School, Stafford Middle School, Arthur P. Momot Elementary School, Bailey Avenue Elementary and Oak Street Elementary along with Seton Academy. At the schools, the Juvenile Division encourages a positive relationship between the students and law enforcement, is a positive role model for students, provides information and education to the students on a wide variety of topics, and works with the administration in each building to address problems facing the student population.
In addition to the students, the Juvenile Division assist faculty and administration at the schools as well as provides support to various civic groups and organizations. As the Juvenile Officer, Officer Clarke also works with the Clinton County Youth Bureau as well as the Clinton County Department of Social Services Person in Need of Supervision Diversion Committee, assisting area youth not only in the City of Plattsburgh but also with the youth in communities throughout Clinton County.
