On November 19th, 2017 Plattsburgh City Police officers responded to the City Recreation Department (City Gym) for the report of a larceny. Upon their arrival they learned from Recreation Department staff that an unknown perpetrator had pried open lockers in the women’s locker room. Officers were directed to a victim reporting that someone had pried open her locked locker and had stolen a set of her car keys. Upon inspecting her car, she discovered that someone had entered her locked car and had stolen her purse containing credit cards, checks and cash. The victim later reported illegal use of her credit cards locally at multiple stores.
After an extensive investigation, Plattsburgh City Police officers arrested Jodi S. Schwartz (39) of Plattsburgh, NY for crimes related to this original report. Schwartz was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court on November 28th, 2017 for 3 counts of Forgery 2nd degree (D Felony), 3 counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree (E Felony), 1 count of Grand Larceny 4th degree (E Felony), 2 counts of Petit Larceny (A Misdemeanor) and 1 count of Criminal Mischief 4th degree (A Misdemeanor).
Schwartz was transported to the Clinton County Jail on $3,000 bail/$6,000 bond. Schwartz will reappear in Plattsburgh City Court on a later date.
