[ARCHIVED] Volunteers sought for 2019 Battle of Plattsburgh Commemoration

The 2019 Battle of Plattsburgh Commemoration will be held from September 12th through September 15th. The annual Commemoration pays tribute to the many brave individuals who played a role in the Battle of Plattsburgh, which occurred during the War of 1812. This battle ended the invasion of the Northern States, and shortly thereafter the Treaty of Ghent was signed ending the War of 1812.

During the 2019 Commemoration, there will be both daytime and evening events that will both entertain and educate. Some of these will be historic walking tours, fireworks, a parade, children’s games, and Military reenactments.

Additional volunteers are needed to help organize and coordinate this event. Some of the positions needed are volunteer chairperson, parade chairperson, parade marshals, button sellers, information booth, tavern coordinator, helpers at each activity, Childrens’ Old-Time Village Fair committee, among many others.

Want to be involved? It will be a great way to meet new friends interested in giving back to the community, and learn more about the Battle of Plattsburgh. If interested please contact Scott ‘Skippy’ Dubrey at or at 518-324-7245.

The 2019 Battle of Plattsburgh Commemoration is sponsored by: Kool 105.1, Buzz 99.9,  WOKO, WIZN, Della Auto Group, Dannemora Federal Credit Union, Noon Rotary Club of Plattsburgh, Eagle’s Nest Veterinary, and Norsk Titanium. Thank you to our wonderful sponsors!
