Please note all City of Plattsburgh events are subject to change or cancellation and will abide by the most up to date guidance from the Clinton County Health Department regarding COVID-19 precautions.

January

Tannen-BOOM! Bonfire at The City Beach (01/29) POSTPONED TO 02/05 DUE TO WEATHER

The City of Plattsburgh will be hosting a Tannen-BOOM! event at the Plattsburgh City Beach on Saturday February 5th 2022. from 2:30PM to 7:30PM. The bonfire will be lit at approx. 4:30PM. Christmas trees that have been discarded by city residents have been collected by the Department of Public Works and will be piled high and set on fire alongside music, local food and drink.  Parking for this event is located in the Crete Parking lot. This event is free and open to the public.

Downtown Easter Celebration in partnership with The Z Group (04/16) 

The City will be hosting a Downtown Easter Celebration on Saturday April 16th 2022 in partnership with The Z Group Real Estate. Join us in historic downtown Plattsburgh from 12:00PM-2:00PM to celebrate the beginning of Spring!

Plattsburgh GreenUP! Community Clean Up (04/23)

In honor of Earth Day, The City is coordinating a community-wide clean up day on Saturday April 23rd 2022. Get outside in your neighborhood, local park, downtown district or city beach!

Beach Opening (Memorial Day Weekend)

It's the (un)official start of summer! The Plattsburgh City Beach will be open. Please check the Beach page for the most up to date information.

Parks Come Alive!: Blumette/West End Park (06/02)

Parks Come Alive! is a new summer event series in the City of Plattsburgh that centers on bringing together neighbors for an evening of local drinks, food, music and fun in our local city parks. Join us from 4:30-7:30PM. This event is family friendly and free to attend. Food/Drink is available for purchase.

July

Fourth of July Celebrations (07/04) 

The City of Plattsburgh is hosting this year’s Fourth of July Celebration – including a parade and fireworks display. This year’s parade theme is yet to be determined - stay tuned for the theme announcement in Spring 2022. The events will be held on Monday July 4th with the parade starting at 1:00pm and the fireworks display happening at 9:30pm. Fireworks will be let off downtown by the waterfront.

Mayor’s Cup in partnership with Sunrise Rotary Club (07/09)

The City is proud to host the 2022 Mayor’s Cup Festival and Regatta on Saturday July 9th 2022 at The Plattsburgh City Beach in partnership with Plattsburgh Sunrise Rotary Club. Join us for a day of sailing, volleyball, corn hole, a 5K Run/Walk, live music, local food, drink and more!

Parks Come Alive!: South Acres Park (08/04)

Parks Come Alive! is a new summer event series in the City of Plattsburgh that centers on bringing together neighbors for an evening of local drinks, food, music and fun in our local city parks. Join us from 4:30-7:30PM. This event is family friendly and free to attend. Food/Drink is available for purchase.

Battle of Plattsburgh in partnership with 1814 Inc. (09/09-09/11)

1814 Commemoration Inc. returns with an in-person salute to the Champlain Valley's historic War of 1812 battle: The Battle of Plattsburgh.

A number of living history events, like re-enactments, ceremonies, 19th century kids games, live music, history talks, a parade, fireworks, and more will be open to the community 09/09-09/11.

Attendees can see 19th century trades, like blacksmithing, herbal medicine, candle making, in action; attend a fancy, period-dress ball; enjoy a kid-friendly day of hands-on crafts, face painting and farm animals; sip on a beer brewed specially for the Battle of Plattsburgh; take a guided walking tour to learn the history behind the city streets; and much, much more!

Downtown Trick or Treat in partnership with The Z Group (10/29)

Downtown Businesses and local organizations will be getting spooky on Saturday October 29th for the 3rd annual Downtown Trick or Treat in partnership with The Z Group. Join us in historic downtown Plattsburgh and get to know our many downtown local businesses who will be passing out treats. Stay tuned for additional events in Trinity Park and throughout the downtown. 

December

Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting in partnership with The Strand (12/03)

The City of Plattsburgh is pleased to host our community’s beloved Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony in partnership with The Strand Center for the Arts. This year’s parade theme is yet to be determined - stay tuned for the theme announcement in Fall 2022. The events will be held on Saturday December 3rd 2022.
