UPDATED PRESS RELEASE
On September 3, 2024, at approximately 2:23 A.M., the Plattsburgh City Police Department received a report of an alleged shooting in the vicinity of Cornelia Street, City of Plattsburgh. A preliminary investigation determined a victim sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, where the victim was pronounced deceased.
At approximately 7:30 A.M., Tri-County SRT (comprised of members of the Clinton, Essex, and Franklin County Sheriff’s Departments), Plattsburgh City Police Department, and the New York State Police located and surrounded the possible suspects.
After a short period of time and negotiations, the possible suspects were taken into custody without incident and turned over to the Plattsburgh City Police Department for further questioning.
This is still an active investigation and it is not believed there is a threat to the community.
