Boil Water Order Issued for Joyce Court!

As a result of an emergency water main repair, there has been an interruption of water service and a Boil Water Order has been issued for 1 - 4 Joyce Court.  This Boil Water Order will remain in effect until further notice.

Water Main Repair Scheduled for Wednesday, August 4th!

As the result of a water main repair scheduled for Wednesday, August 4th, there will be an interruption of water service at 44 - 73 Tremblay Avenue, 40, 44 & 47 Haley Drive, and 2 - 8 Jennifer Drive.  This interruption of water service will be between the hours of 7:00am and 3:00pm.  Once water has been restored to this area, a Boil Water Order will be in effect.  This Boil Water Order will remain in effect until further notice!

The City of Plattsburgh seeks Police Chief

The City of Plattsburgh, N. Y. is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to head its 44 member Police department that serves a city population of approximately 19,000.  The City of Plattsburgh consists of about 6 square miles and is located on Lake Champlain in the northeast part of New York State about 20 miles south of the Canadian Border. To the west of Plattsburgh sits 6.1 million acres of land called the Adirondack Park which contains the famous Adirondack Mountains. There are over one hundred summits, ranging from under 1,200 to over 5,000 feet in altitude.   Reporting to the Mayor, the Police Chief is responsible for all daily operations of the department, including training, building plan review.   The Police Chief also is responsible for preparing and presenting annual and five-year capital budgets, and working with the Mayor and Council to develop a long-range plan to modernize the department and ensure it meets and exceeds residents’ needs.   The successful candidate should have a minimum of 2 years experience as a Police Lieutenant or Police Captain; and excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Fire Hydrant Flowing in the City!

The City of Plattsburgh Department of Public Works will flow fire hydrants in Zone 8 starting on Wednesday, August 4th.  The flowing of hydrants will continue on every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday proceeding this date until all streets listed below have been completed.  The program will start about 7:30am and end by 2:00pm on each day. The streets affected by this will be Autumn Drive, Bailey Avenue, Beekman Street, Boynton Avenue, Champlain Street, Circle Grove, Cornelia Street, Grace Avenue, Holland Drive, Jerry Drive, Kelvin Lane, Lafayette Street, McMartin Street, Meadowvale Road, Montcalm Avenue, Morrison Avenue, Palmer Street, Ridgewood Drive, Spring Circle, Summer Hill, Tom Miller Road, Truman Court, and Woodland Drive.  During the times mentioned, the water in the system will be stirred up and may be cloudy or rust colored coming out of the faucet.  Residents should avoid washing clothing or bathing during these times. Please use caution when driving by a flowing hydrant and be watchful of the Department of Public Works personnel who will be performing this duty.
