The Plattsburgh Police Department has two detectives assigned to the Adirondack Drug Task Force on a full time basis. The task force is comprised of law enforcement agencies on the local, state, and federal levels. The agencies include the Plattsburgh Police Department, Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, Essex County Sheriff’s Department, New York State Police, Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security Investigations, and the United States Border Patrol.
The main objectives of the Adirondack Drug Task Force is the investigation of individuals and organizations involved in narcotics trafficking, the seizure of assets acquired through narcotics trafficking, and the promotion of coordinated narcotics enforcement efforts among various law enforcement agencies.
The drug task force, through the combined efforts of local, state and federal agencies, will actively pursue those groups or individuals who manufacture, distribute or sell illegal drugs.
