The City of Plattsburgh is seeking a Fireworks Technician for events in 2026.

Below is a list of events, dates and times we will have fireworks displays.  

1. Fourth of July Celebration: Saturday, 7/4, 9:30PM
   1. Launch Location: Harborside behind the Water Treatment Plant to be viewable from City Hall and Macdonough Monument
   2. Time: Display to last a minimum of 25 minutes, during which time there shall be continuous visible display without delays or breaks in performance
2. Battle of Plattsburgh: Friday, 9/11, 9:00PM
   1. Launch Location: Harborside behind the Water Treatment Plant to be viewable from City Hall and Macdonough Monument
   2. Time: Display to last a minimum of 10 minutes, during which time there shall be continuous visible display without delays or breaks in performance.

Requirements for Proposal:

1. All proposals must include company name, address, contact information, and years in business
2. The Contractor must submit in detail, an outlined aerial display (opening, body, and finale) with its proposal for review. The City encourages the Contractor to offer the newest style shell to enhance the City’s show.
3. Proposals must include a description of shells to be used in the show, along with the total number of each type of shell, size of shell (circumference) and its unit price. Proposals should include all costs, including labor and the cost of materials. 
4. The proposal must contain a minimum of two (2) local references, including company/government name, address, telephone number and contact person.
5. Please provide quotes for all dates listed above.
6. A City of Plattsburgh fireworks permit is required.

Selection Criteria: 

Proposals will be evaluated based on total cost and clarity of pricing structure, equipment quality and availability, vendor experience and reliability, ability to meet timelines, and responsiveness and communication.

Additional Information: 

The City of Plattsburgh reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. The City may award contracts for individual events or as a full package. Vendors may be encouraged to visit event sites upon request to assess logistics and power needs.
