(PLATTSBURGH – September 5, 2024) – The Parks Come Alive Event series will host its final event of the season on Thursday, September 12th, from 4:30-7:30 PM at Fox Hill Park, with family friendly activities, local food, live music, and more. As a special feature of this event, the City of Plattsburgh will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at 6:00 PM to celebrate the completion of new playground equipment and construction upgrades at the park. Since its launch in 2022, the Parks Come Alive! series has become a favorite among Plattsburgh residents, showcasing the city’s local parks and bringing together the community with food, drinks, music, and activities. Old Soul Design Studio will host a beer garden, and attendees can enjoy delicious bites from local food trucks, accompanied by a live performance by the band “Nubble,” an ulterior-Folk band based in the Adirondacks.
“Since the new playground was installed at Fox Hill Park in August, we have seen large crowds of youth using the park and have heard from community members how excited our City’s youth are to have a new and safe playground to use. Seeing parts of the Parks Renewal Masterplan, adopted earlier this year, come to fruition is encouraging and we hope to keep the momentum going” says Courtney Meisenheimer, Director of Community Development.
This event, generously supported by Fidelis Care and other community partners, will also include a limited number of $5 food vouchers that can be redeemed at participating food vendors.
