The Tannen-BOOM community bonfire event has been postponed to 02/05/2022 due to forecasted inclement weather and high wind speeds.
Upon consultation with the Plattsburgh Fire Department and Chief Scott Lawiss, The City of Plattsburgh has postponed the Tannen-BOOM community bonfire event and rescheduled for Saturday February 5th 2022. In preparing for this event, safety has always been the top priority and after assessing the wind speeds and wind direction predicted for Saturday, it has been determined that the event should be postponed.
Event Details
On Saturday February 5 2022, the event will kick off at 2:30PM. The lighting of the Christmas trees will happen at approximately 4:30PM (dusk) with the event closing out at 7:30PM. We are excited to host Eagle Country Radio who will be providing music for the event, and are grateful to McDonalds who will be handing out free hot chocolate while supplies last! Please check back closer to the new event date for details on other confirmed vendors for the event.
Safety Information
Plattsburgh Police, Fire and Public Works teams will be on site to monitor the safety and security of this event. The public is advised to abide by safety protocol issued from city personnel and ensure that children are with their parents/guardians at all times. Temporary toilet facilities are available for the event.
Important Parking Information
Event attendees will be directed to park in the Crete Parking lot and use the sidewalk to access the event. Only authorized vehicles will have access to the Beach parking lot and lawn. The event is free to the public.
COVID Precautions
All City of Plattsburgh events are subject to change or cancellation and will abide by the most up to date guidance from the Clinton County Health Department regarding COVID-19 precautions. This is an outdoor event but attendees are encouraged to mask up.
