(PLATTSBURGH- November 26th 2025) - The City of Plattsburgh is proud to announce the Grand Marshal for this year’s highly anticipated Holiday Parade: Patty Waldron, A long-time community advocate, small business owner, and public servant, Patty has had “boots on the ground” in the City of Plattsburgh for nearly three decades. Patty’s impact and dedication are undeniable.
“Recognizing individuals like Patty Waldron is an important tradition for our City. Her years of service as a business owner and county legislator have strengthened the community in meaningful ways. As we celebrate Miracle on Margaret Street, this parade highlights the creativity, connection, and community spirit that make Plattsburgh such a special place,” says Plattsburgh Mayor, Wendell Hughes.
Each year, the City of Plattsburgh announces the Grand Marshal for the Holiday Parade, a title bestowed upon those who have served the community and its members in a unique and special way. In 2024, the City named Julie Stalker, Senior Outreach Program Director at the Joint Council for Economic Opportunity (JCEO), as Grand Marshal. This year, Patty has been given the title because of her dedication and service to the region. As the former owner and operator of the Koffee Kat, she became a daily fixture of downtown life — witnessing countless “miracles” on Margaret Street and supporting generations of residents, students, artists, and leaders. Patty opened her business during the administration of Mayor Clyde Rabideau and has been part of many chapters of the City’s growth and transition ever since. In addition to her work as a business owner, Patty has served as a Clinton County Legislator for the past twelve years, where she has championed community wellbeing and listened closely to the needs and experiences of residents.
Patty’s deep commitment to public service has shaped her leadership. “Serving the community in this capacity has had a profound effect on me,” she shared. “I was an ear for the community and had a voice at the table. I thrive when I stay involved with people and truly understand how they’re feeling and what we can do better as leaders.”
As Grand Marshal, Patty offers a message rooted in empathy, unity, and caring for one another:
“I would encourage the wealthy to know the impoverished, the Republicans and Democrats to debate closer to middle ground, religious debates to get closer to one God, and the ‘sane’ to get in touch with their own ‘insanity.’ Taking care of each other is the most important thing you can ever do to make a difference.”
The City is honored to celebrate Patty’s long-standing dedication and the positive impact she continues to make across our region.
