The City of Plattsburgh has seen record amounts of rain this season which has caused multiple Parks Come Alive! Events to be canceled and rescheduled. The City is pleased to share that both Parks Come Alive! events that were canceled in July and August have been rescheduled and still promise to bring food, music and fun to our local city parks.

The City of Plattsburgh has taken a giant step toward its goal to become a safe, healthy, and sustainable community with the completion of the Greenhouse Gas Inventory (GHGI) of City Operations.

The Sunrise Rotary Club of Plattsburgh is proud to announce the gift of beach wheelchairs and accessibility mats to Plattsburgh City Beach. These new additions will make it easier for people with disabilities, mobility issues, seniors, and veterans to enjoy the beach and the surrounding area.

The Parks Come Alive! Event series is back on Thursday July 13th from 4:30-7:30PM at Melissa Penfield Park. The event will feature local food, drinks, music and activities for kids- all set in Plattsburgh’s city parks. 

Our nation will celebrate its 247th birthday this year, and what better way to spend your Fourth of July by joining us in Downtown Plattsburgh at the annual Fourth of July Celebration on Tuesday July 4th 2023! This year’s celebration will feature a parade, free concert, downtown food court and a spectacular fireworks show!

On May 18, 2023, at the Annual Meeting of the New York State Conference of Mayors, the NYCOM membership unanimously elected Christopher Rosenquest, Mayor of the City of Plattsburgh, to serve as the organization’s Second Vice President for the coming year.

The Parks Come Alive! Event series is set to kick off for the summer season on Thursday June 8th from 4:30-7:30PM at Peter Blumette Park. The event will feature local food, drinks, music and activities for kids- all set in Plattsburgh’s city parks.

At the Common Council meeting on Thursday May 4th, Council voted to approve a partnership where the City of Plattsburgh will pay for the registration fees for City youth under the age of 12 to participate in YMCA sports programming, starting in Fall 2023.
